My goal for this little blog was to update it monthly, using the twins' end-of-month birthday as a marker of sorts. All of the sudden it was the end of May, their 9 month mark. 8 months? Don't know where it went. Like, boop. Gone. I completely dropped the ball, but I'm forgiving myself because it means I was crazy busy raising three babes under three. When I was taking Scotland's monthly pics, I didn't miss a beat-- Each month, on the 2nd, without fail, same bedding, same room, the whole shabang. And I so love looking back at these photos in progression to obsessively observe the leaps and bounds of growth made in 30 days. C'est la vie! Sorry, boys! Here's a recap of the two months gone by: As far as major changes, Eric and I are completely renovating our backyard; trying to make it our little sanctuary as actually leaving the house can be a bit daunting. It's been a long process, but I'm hopeful it will turn out beautifully when it's all done. We are getting close! Scotland loves being outside, and I can't wait for her to enjoy a more functional, nicer layout. I've been meeting up with lots of mommy friends for walks and play dates. It's been really nice. I'm realizing just how valuable my girlfriends and mommy friends are. I've leaned on my husband a lot these past weeks. He's always been such a calming presence, but against my gale force winds lately, he's done an exceptional job. I'm grateful for this hard working man friend. Okay, enough with the mush. Here are some pics!
Scotland (and I) love cuddling in the "big bed"
Sooo mischevious. I actually think this was one of the last days in diapers. This chick is full blown potty-trained. Way to go, Pooks (slash mom and dad)!

Getting ready to SWIM
A wonderful visit from the glamorous aunties. Scotland could not stop staring at Jessie. I'm pretty sure she's her very own real-life Disney Princess (Which she totally IS!)
TEETHIES! Both babes have sprouted their two bottom teeth. Eddie had a little bit of a hard time, Elly? Child's play. The world's chillest baby can't be bothered by silly ol' teeth.
Sleeping beauty. How is it possible I'm already missing these moments?
OH MY GOOOOSH, the model pose!! I simply cannot believe this happens. Oh, precious Eddie NEVER give this up!
Hello, Eddie Freds!
After her bath, lil Miss loves to "get cozy" in Mommy's bed.
First swimming lessons were rough! She got an A+ in the screaming toddler category, which surprised me because she's typically pretty easy-going and was very eager to swim. She got the hang of it after some miscommunication was cleared up regarding her age. Sometimes it's not always fun to look older!
This boy... I am over the moon in love (Elliott)
Model Citizen
These little boys are everything boy. They literally pummel each other in their playpen- tiny wrestling matches!
hahaha that one time my dad WAS HIS BITMOJI. I love him.
Haaay, El
Scotland and I took a trip to the zoo just the two of us. It was so special to me. I love seeing the world through her eyes.
Gorgeous lion
I found our names on the board walk! I completely forgot they were there. 'The Matheson Grandchildren' and 'Jack & Virginia Sweeney Grandchildren'. I loved seeing them again.
What's a zoo trip without a carousel ride?
This is her garden, and she is the garden fairy

I love this picture. There's just something so guileless about his expression.
This girl loves to dress up. And this mom loves to oblige.

What's new:
I am loving this blossoming personality she's dawning lately. She's coming out of the terrible two's, and starting to understand boundaries, consequences, etc. I am obsessed with watching her imagination thrive. Also, a bit embarassed when I hear my mommy voice coming out in one of her games, ha! She's also becoming more genuinely helpful, which can most likely end in a bigger mess, but the intent is sweet, and I want to foster that. I'm eating up the times she wants to cuddle and tell me all about her day. She loves to dance, or daaayooonce, as she says. She's very much into princesses at the moment. I love that she's a girly-girl who isn't afraid to pick up worms. She's still beyond smart, tall like her daddy, and FULL OF SASS. Love this little chicka and best friend.
Frapa. CONGRATS to Eric's bro, Shane. He got engaged to our favorite lady! YAHOO! We are so thrilled.
:: 9 MONTHS ::
Just some quick stats on both-
They are literally the same in every category (as always), which blows my mind!!
weight - 19.5 lbs
height - 29.5 inches
They are in the 50th percentile in weight and 85th in height. Pretty amazing considering that isn't their "corrected" stats, as they techinally should be compared with 7 month old babies. Tall and skinny. Just like dad. Just like sissy. WHY can't I be taller?

This is a bouncing baby boy! And I don't just mean that as an expression. He is literally bouncing all. the. time! He loves to be on the move- laughing, smiling, and just being the cutest thing on the planet. He's extremely coordinated, and loves to tackle his brother. He is a sleeeeepy boy. He likes to take two two hour naps a day, sometimes longer. It makes sense, since he is in constant motion when awake. He's obsessed with his sissy, loves his mommy, and adores his daddy. My bright eyed, crooked smiled, happy baby boy is the light of my life.

My angel faced, observant little man. My love for him is tangible. He studies everything and everyone. He excels in fine motor skills. He can clap, grasp, and babble. He's making progress with gross motor skills. I've noticed some big improvements, and I'm optimistic he will catch up sooner than later. He is still just as magical as ever. He loves to stroke faces and stare into your eyes (or soul.. either one). He plays with my hair- not like a grasping baby grip thing, like will actually stroke and brush it with his little fingers. GAH, I melt melt melt. He is very happy, as well. My favorite 'new' thing is his deep voice and deep belly laughs. Elly Bell, you have my heart.
So there you have it- phew! Just a few shots from our highlight reel. Summer is looking bright as ever with lots of fun adventures on the horizon. For now, off to watch some awful/wonderful reality T.V..
