Workin' Momma, Prayers, Changes, and a Whole Lotta Baby

Sooo... I went back to work! Can you tell? Our little blog has definitely taken a backseat to our hectic life, but our adventures haven't stopped! Getting back in the classroom was definitely a bittersweet ordeal. I knew the transition period would be the hardest, and now that we're in our new normal, I have found peace in balancing work and Mommy. I've ignited the teaching bug again and I thrive on finding new ways to engage my babes. I've also discovered what it means to stay as organized as possible, being that our house can go from neat to volcanic eruption in 30 seconds flat (how does that happen??).  It's still a work in progress, but I'm learning! We also have wonderful help. Our household wouldn't run as smoothly without family and our awesome Nanny.

A lot has happened these last few months. Scotland is continuing to flourish; her talents and personality amaze me every day. She's the happiest lil' squirt. She sleeps through the night. She snuggles as much as we want. Eats like a champ. Yep, we're lucky. I don't know any 'secrets' we're doing, but we do count our lucky stars, and often! Albeit, we still face challenges as new parents. Some days we feel on top of the world, like we got this down! Other days we (as in I) are scouring the internet, Doctor's number on speed dial, at the slightest indication of sickness (side note - we've made it through our first few colds - yippee!). My point being, even though Pookah is just perfect, we as parents are working our way through this adventure together. I find more stars in the sky to thank as Eric is the calming presence in our household. Meaning, he keeps my crazy at bay!

Here are a few highlights since our last post:

Happy four months! New this month:
Lots of smiles
Rolling to stomach then to back, and repeat until I'm across the room!
Growling
First taste of rice cereal

Gearing up for the holidays with Momma at the Country Club

Baby's first Christmas!!!! Scottie was definitely the big winner for gifts, as expected. She especially loved the wrapping paper and bows. Eric and I are looking forward to many more Christmas mornings spent as a wee family in our cozy home. (If you couldn't tell, our photos have come a long way from our iphone snapshots. Thanks for the camera, Turnbow's!!)
With Santa, AKA Papa Ed

If I don't have a baby in my lap, I've got a pup.
 So curious!
Did I do that? Daddy takes it like a champ
 Bath time!
Playing in my crib with my friends
Lots of Daddy time. I am the epitome of a Daddy's girl!!
Oh my goodness, this is just too precious. Our dear friends Lauren and Matt have twins who are two months older than Scotland. We were thrilled to have made in onto their holiday party guest list. We love love love spending time with this darling fam! Scotland and Sam are in love already!
Matt and Lauren's oldest, Claire. Ohmiword, how I love this girl!!
December 29th was a special day for us. Scotland was baptized as a child of God. We are honored to have my bestie, Alex (in from Paris) and my brother, Scott, serve as Godparents. It was a beautiful ceremony and we couldn't wait to celebrate with the newest lil' Catholic in town!

The Stout's! We were so touched they came to support Boo.

I DIE! These three are going to stir up trouble! Sam, Scotland, and August
All the babies! It's so fun to surround ourselves with fellow parents and their darling babes.
Suddenly, I had a 5 month old. Time has become so disorienting. I astonished at the leaps and bounds made each day by this little one. While it's a fast, fast ride, I'm enjoying every second!
